Body Boarding is one of the easiest and most fun water sports. It is suitable for almost every age group, from young children to grandparents. The whole family can enjoy the beach and waves together, without any training. A bodyboard is basically a small surfboard. It is made of very lightweight hydrodynamic foam and is short and rectangular in shape. It is very small and light, making it very easy to handle in the water. It is also known as Boogie Boarding. An American surfer, Tom Morey, came up with the idea of a small surfboard and called it the 'Boogie Board'. Since then it has become hugely popular due to its convenience and excitement.
How to Body Board?
Body Boarding is similar to surfing but only requires you to hold the board, not stand up, on it. You swim out, just a short way and try and catch the crest of a wave and ride it onto the beach. There are many consistent small waves in Goa, that make it easy for you to catch them and feel the thrill of riding a wave. Body Boarding is known as a surface water sport, for these activities, the use of swimming fins are optional. You can easily catch waves without them though some professionals swear by them as they feel it gives them more chances to ride a wave. You can use them if you wish.
Body Boarding is a great, low-cost introduction to Wave Surfing. If you enjoyed your time you can later book a Surfing Lesson with us and learn how to ride the waves, with a full-size surfboard. Check out our surfing packages on this website.
