Kite surfing
Kite surfing
Kite surfing is a complex, but rewarding water sport. It involves a combination of several sport skills, including surfing, wakeboarding, and kite flying. Kitesurf has had a surge in popularity across the globe in recent years and has replaced windsurfing on many beaches. So much so that it will become an Olympic sport from now on with its first appearance coming up in Paris, France in 2024. Time to join the daredevils flying across the waves.
Kite Surfing Lesson
It is essential to have a great instructor (we only have great instructors at Atlantis!) before you try for yourself. This is important not only to learn the basics, but also to learn about safety. Safety is something that we take very seriously. There are precautions that you need to take as you have a very powerful kite attached to a harness around you. You must be aware and in control all of the time. You will then have to learn about the movement of waves, wind direction and strength, control of the kite and control of the board.
Feel the freedom
There are very few sports that give you such a feeling of freedom and oneness with the elements. The wind and the water. So get set to experience all that freedom and feel the supreme energy of the wind. Your instructor will guide you through the easiest and safest way to learn kite surfing. The lesson will last about an hour and a half and take you through the basics of popping up the kite and getting started. Our instructors use a tried and tested safe and efficient approach to get you to experience the power of the wind to the fullest.
The weather
Kitesurfing is very weather dependant. It needs the wind to be blowing in the right direction, preferably along the coastline. It also needs to not be blowing too hard when you are learning. When you have become proficient you will be able to challenge different weather conditions, but for the lesson, it must be just right. Goa has very suitable weather conditions for kitesurfing but it is imperative that you speak with us before booking your lesson.
